Add a member directly

What is this?

With Add Member you create a new member yourself and enter their details. That fits when you already have the details. If the person should sign up themselves, use the Invitation link instead.

How to add a member

1. Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Members.
2. Click Add Member at the top right. The form opens on the right.
3. Under Person enter first name and last name, and for active members also the email address. Profile picture, birthday and wedding anniversary are optional.
4. Under In the choir set:
   • Active Member (ticked) or passive
   • Do not automatically add to events, if new events should not add the member as “Pending”
   • Voice, Permission group, Ensemble Function and Entry Date
5. Add Contact (address, phone, mobile), Bank and SEPA, Notes and Custom fields as needed.
6. Click Add member.

If parent linking is switched on in your choir, you can pick a Guardian directly when creating an active member.

What happens after creating the member

• Active member with a new address: Theatilo creates an account and sends the login details by email.
• Active member with a known address: the existing Theatilo account is used, and the person gets an email.
• Passive member: they are only in the member list, have no access and get no email.

Permission

You need the permission Create & edit members. Only an administrator can assign the Administrator permission group.

Tips

• Enter the voice part right away. It determines the groups in events, sheet music and attendance.
• For many members, Import Members in the ··· menu is faster.
• If the email doesn't arrive, the person should check their spam folder. Also check the spelling of the address in the member's profile.
