What is this?

When a member changes between your choirs, for example from the children's choir to the main choir, you don't have to create them again. With Copy or Move you take over their details in one step.

Copy or move?

  • Copy: the member sings in both choirs.
  • Move: the member switches to the other choir completely.

How to do it

  1. Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Members.
  2. Open the ··· menu on the member's row and choose Copy to another choir. The entry only appears if your choir has a main choir or sub-choirs.
  3. Choose Copy or Move at the top.
  4. Choose the choir under Target.
  5. When moving, also tick the confirmation box.
  6. Click Copy or Move.

Active members with an email address get an email about the new choir. When moving, the member is removed from the current choir; their active ensemble functions there end with today's date.

Which choirs can be the target?

Only related choirs:

  • the main choir, if your choir is a sub-choir,
  • other sub-choirs of the same main choir,
  • the sub-choirs of your choir.

Projects are not possible as a target.

Permission

You need Create & edit members in the current and in the target choir. You can't move yourself. Only an administrator can move an administrator.

Tips

  • Align voice part names: if the voice parts are named differently (e.g. “Soprano I” and “Soprano”), the voice part stays empty. Assign it afterwards in the target choir.
  • For projects, use Take over from choirs in the project.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between copying and moving?▾
When **copying**, the member stays in the current choir and is also added to the target choir. When **moving**, they are removed from the current choir. Events, sheet music and cash book entries stay there.
Why can't I choose a project as the target?▾
Projects take over their members through their own import from the main choir. Use **Take over from choirs** in the project for that.
Which data is taken along?▾
Address, phone, mobile, birthday, wedding anniversary, entry date, IBAN, BIC and notes. The voice part is matched by name (e.g. “Soprano” → “Soprano”). In the target choir the member is put in the Member permission group and gets the Member function; functions from the current choir are not taken over.
When moving, what happens to responses, sheet music and cash book in the current choir?▾
They stay there. Active ensemble functions in the current choir are ended with today's date.
What happens to custom fields?▾
Values of custom fields are taken over if the target choir has a field with **the same name**. If it is missing there, no field is created and the value is skipped. Create the field in the target choir beforehand if needed.
Which permission do I need?▾
The permission **Create & edit members** in **both** choirs. Choirs where you lack the permission or where the member already is are listed in the dialog under “Not available”.
