Remove a member
Remove a member from your choir for good and delete their member data. If the membership should only be paused, set the member passive instead.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
With Remove from choir you end a person's membership in your choir for good. Theatilo deletes the member data that belongs to this choir. This also lets the choir leadership carry out a deletion request under the GDPR.
If the membership should only be paused, for example during a break, use Set passive. Then all data is kept.
How to remove a member
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Members.
- Open the ··· menu on the member's row (or at the top right of the open member).
- Choose Remove from choir.
- Read the consequences in the dialog and type the member's name to confirm.
- Click Remove permanently.
What happens when you remove a member
- The member data in this choir (address, bank details, voice part) is deleted.
- The member loses access to the choir.
- They are removed from all upcoming events, also in the choir's projects and sub-choirs.
- They are removed from the projects of the choir.
Difference from leaving
If a member leaves on their own (Choir settings > Leave choir), their data stays with the choir and they appear under Passive with the note “Left on …”. The choir leadership is informed.
Permission
You need the permission Delete members. Only an administrator can remove an administrator. You don't remove yourself here; use Leave choir for that.
Tips
- When in doubt, use Set passive. That can be reversed at any time, removing cannot.
- Download reports first if you still need the data, for example under Choir settings > Reports.
