Permission required: Files – View files
What is it?
When you delete a file or folder in the choir files, it is not gone right away but stays in the trash for 7 days. During that time you can restore it with one click. After that Theatilo removes it automatically and permanently.
How to use the trash
- Click Files in the sidebar. If a choir is selected at the top, its files open; with “All choirs” Theatilo asks which choir you mean.
- Open the ··· menu at the top right and choose Trash.
- Deleted folders (with the number of files in them) are listed first, then deleted files, each with the deletion date and the day they disappear for good.
- Open the ··· menu on the row and choose Restore or Delete permanently.
- Empty trash at the top right deletes everything permanently at once.
Permissions
- View trash: View files (for the folder)
- Restore: Edit files
- Delete permanently, empty trash: Delete files
Tips
- Check the trash first before uploading an accidentally deleted file again.
- Deleting permanently cannot be undone – not even by support.
Frequently asked questions
How long can something be restored?▾
7 days from deletion. After that the nightly clean-up removes it for good.
What happens to the contents of a deleted folder?▾
They are in the trash together with the folder. When you restore the folder, the subfolders and files that were deleted with it come back too.
Can I delete something permanently before the 7 days are up?▾
Yes. In the trash use ··· › **Delete permanently** on the row, or **Empty trash** at the top. Theatilo asks first; afterwards nothing can be restored.
Are the versions of a file restored as well?▾
Yes. As long as the file is in the trash, its version history is kept.
Who may do what?▾
Viewing: everyone with **View files** for the folder. Restoring: **Edit files**. Deleting permanently and emptying: **Delete files**.
