Maintain the singing career (previous choirs)
Enter a member's previous choirs with their periods. Theatilo uses them to calculate the total singing years, the basis for membership anniversaries.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
The Singing career records in which choirs a member sang before or alongside your choir. From these periods and the entry date in your choir, Theatilo calculates the total singing years.
Example:
- 2002 to 2014 in the Liederkranz Musterhausen
- 2014 to 2022 in the St Cecilia Choir
- since 2022 in your choir (entry date)
Together this gives the total singing years across all three choirs.
How to maintain the singing career
- Click Ensembles in the sidebar, pick your choir and then Members.
- Click the member and switch to the Roles tab in the side panel.
- Under Singing career click Add previous choir.
- Enter the Choir name, From and optionally Until. If Until stays empty, the choir counts as still active.
- Click Save.
Below the list is the sum Total singing years. You change or delete entries via the menu on each row.
Where the singing years are used
- Membership Anniversaries under Choir settings > Reports: members who reach 25, 40, 50, 55, 60 or 65 singing years in the selected year.
- Anniversaries on the home page.
Permission
On the web, entries can be created, changed and deleted by an Administrator of the choir. The Roles tab is visible to everyone who may edit the member.
Tips
- Ask new members when they join about their previous choirs.
- Also enter short stints, such as a school or university choir. They count towards the singing years.
- Check the entry date in the profile. It is the start of the time in your choir.
