This feature is only available on the web.

Permission required: Events – Create & edit events

What is this?

With Duplicate you create a copy of an existing event. You adjust the title, time and location, and Theatilo takes the rest from the original.

How to duplicate an event

  1. Open the event you want to copy.
  2. Click “Duplicate” at the top right.
  3. Adjust the details: title, location, start, end, internal description and website description.
  4. Click “Duplicate”. The copy is created right away.

What is carried over

  • Type, call link, linked event and attendee limit
  • Response deadlines, shifted to match the new date
  • All assigned sheet music in the same order
  • All directly uploaded files
  • All reminders
  • All tasks, as new, open tasks
  • Visibility restrictions
  • Choirs involved for shared events
  • Confidential note, if you are allowed to see it

What is not carried over

  • Responses: in the copy, everyone invited is on “Pending”.
  • Comments
  • Guests
  • Values of the custom fields
  • Files linked from the file storage
  • The ticket sale
  • Membership in a series

Permission

You need Create & edit events. By default administrators and moderators have it. Duplicating only works on the web.

Frequently asked questions

Are the responses copied too?▾
No. Responses and comments are not carried over. In the copy, everyone invited is back on “Pending”.
Is the sheet music carried over?▾
Yes. All assigned sheet music is copied in the same order, as are the files uploaded directly to the event, the reminders and the tasks (as new, open tasks).
When is duplicating better than an event series?▾
Duplicating suits similar but irregular events, for example a second concert with the same program. For regular events with a fixed rhythm, you are better off creating a series.
Do members get a message?▾
Yes, if the copy is in the future. Everyone who is allowed to see the event gets an email and a push notification, just like for a new event, depending on their own settings.
