Seat plan layout for tickets
Create an interactive seat plan for your concert — buyers choose their preferred seat, you keep full control over rows, blocks and zones.
Diese Funktion ist nur im Web verfügbar.
What is this?
With Seat plan layout you create an interactive hall plan for your concert. Buyers see the plan on the order page, click on a free seat and immediately know where they will sit. Practical for concert halls, theaters or churches with numbered seats.
How to create a layout
- Open the event and go to "Ticketing > Layout".
- Click "New layout" or import an existing layout from an earlier event.
- Create blocks — for example "Stalls left", "Stalls right", "Balcony".
- Define rows per block — number of rows and seats per row.
- Mark blocked seats (for example pillars, technical equipment, reservations for honored guests).
- Assign zones to categories — for example "Balcony = reduced only", "Row 1-5 = VIP".
- Save and publish. The order page now shows the interactive seat plan.
What you can see
- Live status of each seat: free, reserved, sold, blocked
- Occupancy per block at a glance
- Buyer name on click on a sold seat
- Zone overview with category assignment
- Print view of the current occupancy for the box office
What you can do
- Reserve seats manually — for example for honored guests, press, sponsors
- Block seats due to obstructed view or technical equipment
- Rebook existing orders to different seats
- Duplicate layouts for further concerts in the same hall
Block seats from being sold
With the "Block" tool in the toolbar you switch individual seats to blocked or free again with a click. You block an entire row via its edit dialog (double-click the row). Blocked seats:
- appear gray in the ticket shop and cannot be selected
- do not count towards the number of available seats
- can still be assigned free tickets — practical for guests of honor or technical seats
- can be released again at any time
Edit the hall plan after sales have started
You can also edit the hall plan while sales are already running — for example to add new rows. Rows with sold seats are protected: they carry a lock symbol and can no longer be moved, changed or deleted. This way, tickets already sold always remain valid.
Permission
You need Create & edit events to create or edit seat plan layouts. Members with only View events see the layout in the order overview but cannot move or block seats.
Tips
- Sketch the hall on paper first — number of rows, seats per row, special seats. Transferring to the layout then goes much faster.
- Mark pillars and view obstructions as blocked to avoid later complaints.
- Reserve guest of honor seats early — best rows with a good view.
- Plan a buffer row for short-notice reservations from the board or organizer.
- Import layouts again if you regularly perform in the same hall — saves enormous time.
