Permission required: Venues – Create & edit venues

What is this?

With Edit Venue you change the name, description, price categories and seating plan of an existing venue, for example after the hall has been remodeled.

How to edit a venue

  1. Open Ensembles > Choir > Choir settings > Venues.
  2. Click “Edit seating plan” on the venue or choose Edit in the ··· menu.
  3. Change the name, description or price categories.
  4. Adjust the seating plan.
  5. Click “Save”.

When creating a ticket sale, you can also edit the selected venue right there via the pencil.

Editing the seating plan in detail

  • Seat rows: create, move and edit by double-clicking: row label, position, rotation, number of seats, spacing and price category
  • Add areas, stage, tables and obstacles and change the label, position, size, rotation and color in the edit dialog
  • Block seats: individually with the Block tool, or a whole row via Block entire row from sale
  • Delete selected elements

Protected rows

Rows with sold seats are protected. They can no longer be moved, changed or deleted. That way sold tickets stay valid.

Blocked seats

Blocked seats:

  • appear gray in the ticket shop and cannot be selected
  • can still be assigned for free tickets, for example for guests of honor or technical staff
  • can be released again at any time

Permission

You need Create & edit venues. By default administrators and moderators have it.

Tips

  • Block seats with a poor view, for example behind pillars, to avoid complaints.
  • Update the plan before the sale starts, then you won't have to work around protected rows later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still change the seating plan once tickets have been sold?▾
Yes, but rows with sold seats are protected. They can no longer be moved, changed or deleted. You can still edit all other rows freely, for example to add new rows.
How do I block seats from sale?▾
With the “Block” tool you click individual seats. You block a whole row in the “Edit Seat Row” dialog (double-click the row) with “Block entire row from sale”. Blocked seats appear gray in the shop and cannot be booked. You can also assign free tickets to blocked seats.
Do changes affect running ticket sales?▾
Yes. Ticket sales with seating tickets use the seating plan of the selected venue. New or blocked seats affect them.
