Create bank account or cash box

What is this?

With Add account you set up a new account in the cash book. Every entry belongs to exactly one account, so you need at least one account before you can record entries.

There are two types:

• Bank account — a current account or other account at a bank, with IBAN and bank
• Cash box — cash, such as the club's petty cash

How to create an account

1. Open Ensembles, choose your choir and go to Cash book > Accounts.
2. Click Add account at the top right.
3. Choose the type: Bank account or Cash box.
4. Enter a name, for example “Club account” or “Concert cash box”.
5. For bank accounts, optionally: enter the IBAN and Bank.
6. Enter the opening balance (required).
7. Optionally: add Notes.
8. Click Add. The account appears as a card right away.

Setting the opening balance correctly

• New account: €0
• Existing account, you are starting with Theatilo now: the balance according to your bank on the start date
• Cash box: the counted cash on the start date

Check the value carefully, because it cannot be changed later.

Permission

You need Create & edit transactions. By default, the permission groups Administrator and Moderator have it.

Tips

• Create all accounts first, before you import entries. Otherwise, rows with an unknown account end up on the default account during the import.
• Connect a bank account: With the banking add-on you will then find Connect bank in the card’s ··· menu.
