What is this?
With Replace file you swap the MusicXML file a voice trainer exercise generates its audio from. This is useful when:
- You have corrected errors in the notation in your notation program
- Voices are missing or split incorrectly
- Repeats in the old file were not written out
How to replace the source file
- Open the piece in the library.
- Scroll to the Voice trainer exercises area.
- Click ··· on the exercise and choose Replace file.
- Choose the new file — .musicxml, .xml or .mxl, up to 10 MB.
- Theatilo processes the file in the background. As soon as the exercise shows Done again, the new audio is there.
The old file is replaced. If you want to keep it, download it beforehand via ··· › Download MusicXML.
Permission
To replace the file you need Create & edit sheet music.
Tips
- Export with repeats written out ("Unfold Repeats"), otherwise parts are missing from the audio.
- Give members a quick heads-up about the new version.
- For individual wrong notes, Edit notes in the browser is often enough — without a new file.

When you have corrected the MusicXML in your notation program — such as wrong notes, missing voices or repeats that were not written out. You correct individual wrong notes directly in the browser via Edit notes.
Are the sound and count-in preserved?▾

How long does reprocessing take?▾
Usually a few minutes. You see the status on the exercise. There is no notification.
