Permission required: Sheet Music – Create & edit sheet music
What is this?
With Edit you change the details and files of a piece. The page is built like the upload form. Details are saved with one click; changes to PDF versions, audio and additional files take effect immediately.
How to edit a piece
- Open the piece in the library.
- Click Edit at the top right — or choose Edit in the card's ··· menu in the library.
- Adjust what you want to change:
- Hide sheet music (the choir itself cannot be changed)
- Title, composer, arranger, lyricist, duration, reference, video URL, description
- Tags
- View, replace or remove the license file
- Your choir's custom fields
- Click Save.
What else you maintain here
- PDF versions — create a new version, rename, replace the file, set as default, download or delete (see PDF versions of a piece). If the piece has no PDF yet, you upload the first version here.
- Audio files — add, rename, download, delete
- Additional files — such as individual parts, texts or translations
Permission
To edit you need Create & edit sheet music. By default administrators and moderators have this. Whoever uploaded a piece themselves may also edit it.
Tips
- Keep title and composer consistent so pieces by the same composer can be found together — better always "Bach, J. S." than sometimes "Bach" and sometimes "Johann Sebastian Bach".
- Use the description for notes — such as tempo, breathing points or rehearsal sections.
- When replacing a PDF, give a heads-up so members can check their annotations.
Frequently asked questions
Can I also swap the PDF file itself?▾
Yes. In the PDF versions area, choose Replace file in the version's ···menu. You then decide whether members' annotations for this version stay or are deleted.
What happens to other members' marks when I make changes?▾
Changes to the details do not affect annotations. Only when replacing a PDF do you decide whether the annotations for this version stay — if the pages no longer match, it is better to delete them.
Can I change anything on purchased sheet music?▾
For licensed sheet music from the music shop, you can only change the tags. You add your choir's own audio files directly on the detail page.
