What is this?

With search and filter you quickly find the piece you need in the library. The bigger the repertoire, the more important search and tags become.

How to find pieces on the web

  1. Open Sheet music — the Library tab is preselected.
  2. Choose the choir at the top of the header, or "All choirs".
  3. Type into the search field a term — such as title, composer or arranger.
  4. Filter by tags via the Tags button. It appears when a single choir is selected above and that choir has tags.
  5. Sort by Title (A-Z), Title (Z-A), Composer (A-Z), Composer (Z-A), Newest first or Oldest first.

Active tag filters appear as chips below the bar and can be removed individually there.

How to find pieces in the app

  1. Open Sheet Music in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Type into the search field at the top.
  3. Use the quick filters below it: Licensed only, With voice trainer, With audio and the tags.
  4. Via the filter button next to the search field you choose ensemble (if no choir is selected above), tags and sorting.

Search tips

  • The search finds parts of words: "Bach" also finds "J. S. Bach" or "Johann Sebastian Bach".
  • Case does not matter.
  • The search takes the term as a whole: "Bach cantata" only finds pieces where exactly this word sequence occurs. When in doubt, search for just one word.

Typical searches

  • "What are we singing at the Advent concert?" — choose the "Advent concert" tag.
  • "Which a cappella pieces exist?" — choose the "A cappella" tag.
  • "What is new?" — sort by Newest first.

Permission

For searching and filtering you need View sheet music, which every member has by default. Hidden pieces only appear for people with View hidden sheet music.

Tips

  • Assign tags from the start — a well-tagged piece is found again in seconds even years later.
  • Save recurring views as bookmarks in the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can I also search inside the PDF content?▾
No. Search covers title, composer, arranger, lyricist, reference and description, not the PDF content. Add important keywords as a tag instead.
How do multiple tags interact?▾
If you choose several tags, you see all pieces carrying at least one of them. The search adds on top: only pieces that also match the search term remain.
Are my filters preserved on the next visit?▾
In the browser Theatilo remembers the last search term and sorting used. Search, tags and sorting also appear in the address, so you can save a filtered view as a bookmark. Reset filters starts fresh.
