Scan tickets via QR code

What is this?

With the ticket scanner in the Theatilo app you check, at entry, tickets that were sold through the Theatilo ticket shop. You scan the QR code on the ticket — the app immediately shows whether it is valid and checks the guest in.

How to scan tickets

1. Open the Theatilo app.
2. Go to the Events area and open the event with ticket sales.
3. Switch to the "Tickets" tab and tap "Scan tickets".
4. Tap "Scan QR code" and, the first time, allow access to the camera.
5. Hold the camera over the ticket's QR code.
6. The app shows the result:
   • Valid — "Ticket valid and successfully scanned", with several tickets in one order shown as "Ticket x of y"; the guest is checked in
   • Not valid — for example "Ticket not found", "Ticket was cancelled", "Ticket was not paid" or "Ticket already scanned on …"
7. After a few seconds the scanner is ready for the next ticket.

If a code cannot be scanned, enter it under "Or enter ticket code".

What you see at entry

• Name of the buyer and category of the ticket, and for reserved seating the row and seat
• Statistics: Total, Scanned and Remaining — always fresh from the server

Working with several helpers in parallel

Several helpers can scan at the same time with their own smartphones. Because each scan is checked with the server, no ticket can be redeemed twice.

Permission

You see the Tickets tab with the permission Create & edit ticket sales, if ticket sales are unlocked for your choir and the event has a ticket sale. You need the same permission to scan. By default administrators and moderators have this.

Tips

• Check before entry begins that the scanner and internet work for all helpers.
• Make sure there is good light at the entrance — the camera finds QR codes faster then.
• Keep the smartphone charged or bring a power bank.
