Permission required: Sheet Music – View sheet music

What is this?

With Save PDF offline you load sheet music locally onto your smartphone so you can read it without an internet connection. That is perfect for:

  • Rehearsal rooms with poor reception
  • Performance venues without Wi-Fi (churches, old halls)
  • Travel and tour buses
  • Airplane and train

As soon as you are online again, the app syncs all changes automatically.

How to save scores offline

  1. Open the Theatilo app on your smartphone.
  2. Go to the Sheet Music area.
  3. Open the piece you need offline — the app saves the PDF on your device automatically.
  4. In the sheet music list, a download icon on the card shows that the piece is available offline.

Save all sheet music of an event at once

For an event with sheet music you can save all pieces at once — including every edition of a piece:

  1. Open the event and switch to the Sheet Music tab.
  2. Tap "Save offline" (cloud icon).
  3. The app downloads all PDFs one after another — each piece shows a loading spinner, then the download icon to indicate it is available offline.

Sheet music you have already saved is skipped — only what is missing or has changed gets downloaded.

What works offline

  • Read PDF — all pieces you have saved
  • Page changes — swipe as usual
  • Annotate — your annotations are synced later

What does not work offline

  • Rehearsal session — needs internet for the sync
  • Download new sheet music — internet required
  • Audio files and voice trainer — they are loaded during playback and not stored permanently

Tips

  • Save important scores offline before every rehearsal or performance — even when you expect internet.
  • Tidy up regularly: delete offline scores of old pieces no longer in the repertoire.
  • Use Wi-Fi for downloads to save mobile data.
  • Load everything you need on the go in advance before traveling — especially abroad with expensive roaming.

Frequently asked questions

How much storage do scores need?▾
An average sheet music PDF takes 1-5 MB. Even if you save your entire repertoire offline, that is rarely more than 200-300 MB — no problem for modern smartphones.
Are offline-saved scores updated?▾
Yes. If a piece's PDF has been replaced, the app detects this the next time it opens with internet and downloads the new version.
Can I delete offline-saved scores later?▾
Yes. Tap your avatar at the top right and then "Storage" — there you clear the PDF cache.
