Enable push notifications

What is this?

Push notifications are short messages that come straight to your smartphone — even when the Theatilo app is not open. That way you do not miss any new events, notifications or reminders.

How to enable pushes

On first app launch

When you first open the app, it asks whether you want to allow push notifications. Tap "Allow".

If you declined the first time

1. Open your smartphone's settings.
2. iOS: Settings > Notifications > Theatilo > enable "Allow Notifications".
3. Android: Settings > Apps > Theatilo > Notifications > allow.
4. Return to the Theatilo app.

If you turn push notifications on in the app without the device allowing them, the app points this out and offers a way to the settings.

Control inside the app

1. Tap your avatar at the top right (on the iPad at the bottom of the sidebar).
2. Tap "Notifications".
3. Turn "Push Notifications" on or off. Right below that you also control the Email Notifications.

Which pushes there are

• Events — new and changed events as well as reminders
• Notifications — announcements from your choir
• Chat messages — you can mute individual chats within the chat

When you should turn pushes off

• During rehearsal or a concert — best done via "Do not disturb" on your phone
• During vacation or time off — turn everything off temporarily
• For very active chats — mute the chat instead of turning off all pushes

Permission

No special permission required — pushes are available to every member.

Tips

• Enable pushes right after installing the app — that is the easiest way.
• Mute loud chats instead of turning off all pushes.
• iPhone: allow notifications on the lock screen, so you see what matters at a glance.
