PDF viewer (mobile app)
The app's sheet music viewer with annotate, audio, voice trainer, piano, metronome and jump areas — all right on the score, even offline.
This feature is only available in the mobile app.
What is this?
The Theatilo app's sheet music viewer is your tool for practicing and performing right on the score. The browser only has a simple preview; the app offers every tool for rehearsal work.
Tools in the viewer
- Annotate — draw directly on the PDF with pen, marker, eraser, text and symbols (see Draw PDF annotations)
- Jumps — jump areas for repeats and jumps (see Jump marks in the PDF viewer)
- Audio — play audio examples right in the PDF, with tempo and loop
- Trainer — the voice trainer, if there are exercises for the piece
- Piano — an overlay keyboard for sounding individual notes
- Metronome — keep tempo without switching apps
- Video — if a video link is attached to the piece
- Version — switch between PDF editions, if there is more than one
- Share PDF — original or with your annotations (with the permission Download & share sheet music)
- Zoom — pinch with two fingers, double-tap to zoom in and reset; the Zoom button in the dock locks the zoom level
- Page turning — swipe, tap the edge, or use the page bar at the bottom with slider and page dots
- Fullscreen — the icon at the top right hides everything except the sheet music
How to use the viewer
- Open the Sheet Music area in the app.
- Tap a piece — the sheet music view opens across the whole screen.
- Tools in the dock at the bottom: Zoom, Audio, Annotate, Trainer, Video and More with Piano, Metronome, Share PDF, Version and — in a live rehearsal for the director — Live marker. Audio, Trainer and Video only appear when there is something for them.
- On the iPad the buttons sit side by side in one row, Share PDF at the top right.
Settings
Under Avatar › Sheet music view you set whether you turn pages by tapping the edge or by swiping, whether the page-turn animation runs, and whether the page bar and toolbar stay permanently visible.
Tips
- The screen stays on while the sheet music is open — handy during rehearsal and concerts.
- Open important pieces once in advance, or save an event's sheet music offline, so you do not depend on Wi-Fi at the performance.
- Use jump areas for repeats — faster than flipping pages.
Permission
Every member with View sheet music can use the viewer.
