Rehearsal session (live sync between members)
In the live rehearsal, the director opens a piece and all participants immediately get a notice. With the live marker they point to spots in the sheet music.
This feature is only available in the mobile app.
What is this?
The live rehearsal is a feature of the Theatilo mobile app: during rehearsal the director opens a piece, and all participants immediately see which piece is up — one tap, and they have it in front of them. With the live marker the director draws a spot that appears for everyone for a few seconds.
The result: no more "Which piece, which spot?".
How to start a live rehearsal
As the director
- Open the Theatilo app.
- Tap More at the bottom and then "Live rehearsal" (on the tablet, "Live rehearsal" is in the sidebar).
- Tap "Start live session".
- Give the session a name and choose the ensemble — at most one live rehearsal runs per ensemble.
- Open the first piece in the Sheet Music area — everyone in the session gets a notice.
As a member
- Open the Theatilo app.
- If a live rehearsal is running in your ensemble, a notice "Live rehearsal running" appears at the very top of Home.
- Tap "Join" — the app opens the sheet music that is currently open directly.
- When the director opens a different piece, the notice "New Sheet Music" appears. Tap it to open the piece.
While the session is running you see a red LIVE bar above the bar at the bottom with the session name and the current piece (on the iPad at the top of the content). Tapping it opens the session: current piece, participants and "Leave session", or for the director "Choose another piece" and "End session".
What happens during the session
- The director opens a piece — all participants get a notice and open it with a tap
- Live marker — the director turns on the live marker in the sheet music under More (iPad: Marker in the dock); what they draw appears for everyone for a few seconds
- Participants see who joins or leaves the session
- Members can leave the session and join again later
Permission
Any ensemble member with View events can join — every member has this permission by default. To start a session you need Create & manage practice sessions.
Tips
- Make sure you have stable Wi-Fi in the rehearsal room — mobile data works, but Wi-Fi is more reliable.
- Save the event's sheet music offline beforehand — if the internet drops briefly, you still have the pieces.
- Use a tablet for a larger sheet music view.
- Set your device to "Do not disturb" — other notifications would otherwise be distracting.
