Piano keyboard in the PDF viewer
Overlay piano keyboard right in the sheet music PDF. Play starting notes and intervals without needing a second device — even offline.
This feature is only available in the mobile app.
What is this?
The piano keyboard in the PDF viewer is an overlay keyboard at the bottom of the sheet music view. Handy for quickly sounding individual notes or intervals — without switching apps or needing a real piano.
How to use the keyboard
- Open a piece in the Sheet Music area.
- Tap "More" in the dock at the bottom.
- Tap "Piano" (on the iPad directly in the dock).
- The keyboard appears at the bottom edge.
- Tap keys to hear the sound.
Features
- One octave plus C on the phone, two octaves plus C on the tablet
- Octave down / up via the arrows; the current octave is shown at the top
- Note names on the keys, in your language's notation (e.g. H instead of B in German)
- Piano sound, even without internet
When is it useful?
- Finding the starting note — quickly sound it without a separate device
- Practicing intervals — sound two notes one after another
- Practicing tricky leaps — briefly hear the target note before singing
- No piano at rehearsal — as a makeshift pitch pipe
Tips
- Set the device volume appropriately before rehearsal.
- Combine with the metronome — pitch and tempo in one view.
- Not a substitute for the instrument — the keyboard is a fallback for quickly sounding notes.
Permission
Every member with View sheet music can use the keyboard.
