Group chat picture

What is this?

A picture for your group chat makes the group easy to spot in the chat overview. Instead of a generic icon, all participants see a fitting image, such as the voice section logo, a group photo from the last concert or a symbol that shows what the group is for.

How to upload a picture

1. Open the group chat on the web or in the app.
2. Click ··· at the top right and choose Group settings. In the app you can also tap the group name.
3. Click "Upload picture" or "Change picture" (app: tap the group picture).
4. Choose an image file from your device (4 MB at most).

The new picture shows up for all participants right away, on the web and in the mobile app.

Remove the picture

To remove the picture again, choose Remove picture in the group settings (app: Delete profile picture). The group then shows the default picture again.

Permission

You have to be an admin of the group chat to change the picture. Regular participants see it but cannot edit it.

Tips

• Choose a square image with good resolution (at least 400x400 pixels) so it looks sharp in the app.
• Avoid small details in the image. In the overview the picture is shown very small.
• Mind image rights when you use photos in which people can be recognized. If in doubt, ask the members shown for their consent.
