View archived notifications
Open the archive with all archived notifications of your choirs. You can search and read them, and move them back into the normal list when needed.
This feature is only available on the web.
What is this?
The archive holds all notifications of your choirs that someone has archived. It is the collection of finished or older notifications, searchable and accessible at any time for everyone who may delete notifications.
Everything is kept in the archive:
- The full text of the notification
- All comments and reactions
- Attachments to download
- Poll results as a record
- Author and date
How to open the archive
- Open Messages › Notifications in the sidebar.
- Click "Archive" at the top right. The list now shows "Archived Notifications".
- Browse the list of archived notifications, newest first.
- Click an entry to read the full notification.
- Bring a notification back by choosing "Restore" in the ··· menu. It then appears in the normal list again.
- "Current" takes you back to the current notifications.
The app has no archive.
When the archive is useful
Typical uses:
- Finding old program info, for example when preparing a follow-up concert
- Checking past poll results: who voted for what back then
- Finding attachments again: old sheet music scans, posters, directions
- Following earlier discussions that led to decisions
- Records for the club history, for example for the annual review
What you can search for
The search field above the list searches the title and text of archived notifications. With the choir filter at the top of the header, you show only one choir's archive.
Permission
You need the Delete notifications permission for the "Archive" button to appear. By default the Administrator and Moderator permission groups have it.
Tips
- Check the archive when you need a specific piece of old information. Searching is usually faster than long scrolling.
- Restore important old notifications before a related date comes up, for example the rehearsal info for a piece you are picking up again.
- The archive is not a backup: if someone deletes the notification, it is gone from the archive too.
