Permission required: Notifications – View notifications

What is this?

Notifications can contain attachments, such as a PDF with the concert program, a photo from the last performance or a sheet music scan to prepare with. With Download attachment you can open, view or permanently save these files on your device.

Typical attachments in notifications:

  • PDF: program, directions, lyrics, rehearsal schedule
  • Image: photo, poster, map, outfit example
  • Office document: Word file with texts, Excel with lists
  • Linked files: files from your choir's Files area, marked "Linked from files"

How to download an attachment

  1. Open the notification from the notifications overview.
  2. Scroll to the "Attachments" section below the notification text.
  3. Tap or click the attachment:
    • On the web: the file opens in the browser or is downloaded.
    • In the app: the file opens in your browser or the matching app on your device.
  4. Save the file locally if you need it offline later, for example for a rehearsal.

If a linked file has since been deleted from the Files area, it shows "no longer available".

Where saved attachments end up

Depending on your device and browser, attachments are stored in different places:

  • Web (desktop): in your browser's default download folder
  • iPhone / iPad: in the "Files" app or directly in the app you open them with
  • Android: in the Downloads folder or in the app you chose

Permission

You need the View notifications permission to download attachments. All members have it by default. If you can see the notification, you can also open and save all of its attachments.

Tips

  • Download important attachments before rehearsal; reception in the rehearsal room is often poor.
  • For sheet music scans, check whether the file is also in the sheet music library, where it stays available permanently.
  • For large files, use Wi-Fi to save mobile data.
  • Mind privacy: before forwarding or printing attachments, check whether they contain internal club content that shouldn't go outside.

Frequently asked questions

Which file types are supported?▾
You can attach PDFs, images (JPG, PNG, GIF), Word and Excel files and text files to a notification, up to 50 MB per file. Files from the choir's Files area can also be linked; these can be any type the Files area allows.
Are attachments available offline?▾
No. Attachments open via a download link, so you need an internet connection. Save important files to your device beforehand if you need them offline.
Can I download several attachments at once?▾
No. You open or save each attachment individually. If several files should be bundled, download them one after the other or ask the author to put them in the Files area as a ZIP file.
Who can see attachments?▾
All members who can see the notification itself also have access to its attachments. The download links are only valid for a short time, so a link passed on to someone else stops working after a while.
