Notifications overview
All notifications of your choirs at a glance, newest first, with unread markers, polls, attachments and reactions visible right away.
What is this?
The notifications overview is your central place for all announcements, information and discussions in your choirs. Here you see at a glance what the choir director, the board or other authorized members have shared, from an invitation to an extra rehearsal to concert info to a vote on the next rehearsal date.
Each notification in the list shows the key information compactly:
- Title and preview text of the notification
- Author, choir and time of publication
- Number of comments and attachments
- The poll question, if a poll is attached
- Visibility, if the notification is meant only for certain groups
- Read status: unread notifications are marked
How to use the overview
- Open Messages › Notifications in the sidebar, or in the app tap Messages and then Notifications at the top.
- Scroll through the list; the newest entries are at the top. In the app, older notifications load as you scroll.
- Tap or click a notification to read it in full and comment. On wide screens it opens to the right of the list.
- Use the search at the top of the list to filter by keywords in title and text.
- Pick a choir in the choir filter at the top if you only want to see that choir's notifications.
What else you see
Right in the list you can react and, for a poll, cast your vote with "Vote" without opening the notification. If you've already voted, "View poll" shows the result.
Anyone with the Delete notifications permission also finds the "Archive" button at the top, and anyone who may write notifications finds the "New notification" button.
Permission
You need the View notifications permission to see notifications. All members of your choir have it by default. Who may write or edit notifications is controlled by the Create & edit notifications permission, by default the Administrator and Moderator permission groups.
Tips
- Check the overview regularly, even if you have push notifications turned on, so you don't miss any discussion.
- Use reactions instead of short comments like "Thanks" or "Sounds good". That keeps the overview tidy, and authors still see your feedback.
- Vote in polls early so organizers can plan in time.
Recognizing unread notifications
Notifications you haven't seen yet are marked with a dot in the list. The number of unread notifications from the last 90 days is shown on the Notifications tab and is included in the number on Messages in the sidebar.
A notification counts as read as soon as it has been shown to you in the list or you've opened it; your own notifications never count. The counter can't be cleared all at once, so nothing important gets lost.
