Upload single photos and videos or whole batches to an album — on the web by selecting or dragging, in the app straight from your smartphone gallery.

What is this?

With Upload photos you add new photos and videos to an existing album — one by one or many at once, for example after a concert or rehearsal weekend.

The media appear in the album immediately and are visible to all members who may see the album.

How to upload media

On the web

  1. Click "Media" in the sidebar and open the album.
  2. Click "Upload photos" at the top right.
  3. In the "Upload photos and videos" window, select the files or drag them in.
  4. The upload starts right away. A bar shows how many files are already up. Keep the page open until everything is uploaded.
  5. Files that could not be uploaded are then listed with the reason in a notice (e.g. file type not allowed or too large).

In the mobile app

  1. Tap "Media" in the bar at the bottom or under More and open the album.
  2. Tap "Upload" at the bottom right.
  3. Allow access to your photos if the app asks for it.
  4. Select one or more photos and videos.
  5. The app uploads them one after another and shows the progress.

What is allowed

  • Photos: JPG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC
  • Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, WebM, MKV, MPEG and other common formats
  • Size: up to 5 GB per file

Permissions

You need Create & edit albums & media — administrators and editors by default. If "Members may upload media" is switched on for the album, all members who can see the album may upload.

Tips

  • Pick the best shots before uploading — quality beats quantity.
  • Upload media soon after the event, while interest is high.
  • Add captions on the web afterwards — for example who and what can be seen.

How many items can I upload at once?▾
On the web and in the app you can select several files at once; there is no fixed limit. They are uploaded one after another.
Which file formats are supported?▾
Photos: JPG, PNG, TIFF and HEIC. Videos: common formats such as MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, WebM, MKV and MPEG. Each file may be up to 5 GB.
Are media compressed automatically?▾
No, the original is kept. For the overview Theatilo creates a small preview, and a preview image for videos.
Can I upload as a regular member?▾
Yes, if "Members may upload media" is switched on for the album. You may then also delete your own uploads again.
