Reorder media

What is this?

With the sorting function you decide in which order the photos and videos appear in an album. Without your own sorting, Theatilo shows the media in the order they were uploaded — the oldest first.

As soon as you move an item by drag and drop, Theatilo keeps the order for the whole album. So you can pull single highlights to the front without mixing up the rest.

How to change the order

1. Click "Media" in the sidebar and open the album.
2. Open the ··· menu at the top and choose "Change order". The entry only appears from two items on.
3. Click and hold an item — on a phone or tablet, tap and hold briefly.
4. Drag it to the new position.
5. Let go — all other media move up automatically, and the new order is saved immediately.
6. Click "Done" when everything is in place.

When is this useful?

• Concert order — arrange photos chronologically by programme item.
• Highlights first — show the best shots first.
• Group similar photos — pictures with a similar subject right next to each other.
• Tell a story — from arrival through the performance to the farewell.

Permissions

You need Create & edit albums & media to change the order. Administrators and editors have this by default.

Tips

• The first photo is the album cover — drag your best photo to the front.
• New uploads go to the end — if you add photos after sorting, you can drag them to the right place.
• In the browser on your phone dragging works the same way — tap an item briefly, hold, then move it to the new position. In the app the order cannot be changed.
