Open a bell notification entry

What is this?

A bell notification is just a teaser; the actual content is somewhere else, for example in Events or under Messages. One click on the entry takes you straight to the content, without navigating through the sidebar first.

How to open an entry

1. Click the bell at the top right of the header.
2. In the "Notifications" window you see your latest entries.
3. Click the entry you want.
4. You are taken to the content:
   • Event, event change or reminder → the event
   • Task → the event the task belongs to
   • Notification, or a comment or mention in a notification → the notification
   • Association announcement → the association announcement
   • Board mail → the choir's board
   • Community → the post or profile, otherwise your community notifications
   • Chat invitation → the chat
   • Parent link → Settings › Parents and children
5. The bell notification is marked as read.

You read system notices directly in the bell. Live rehearsal entries open nothing on the web, because live rehearsals only run in the app. In the app, a live rehearsal opens the running rehearsal, and system notices appear as a message.

Types of entries

• Events: new and changed events, reminders
• Notifications: new notifications, comments and mentions
• Tasks: assigned tasks and tasks that are due soon
• Association announcements: messages from the umbrella association
• Board: new board mail
• Community: likes, comments, new followers
• Live rehearsals: a live rehearsal has started
• System: system notices from Theatilo

Permission

You can only open entries whose content you're allowed to see, meaning the choir or association in question gives you access. If something has changed in the meantime, you see a message saying so.

Tips

• Use the bell as your daily overview to jump in quickly wherever something just happened.
• Read important notifications in full and comment right away if needed; don't just clear the bell and forget about it.
• If a click does nothing, check your internet connection. Sometimes slow loading holds things up.
