Archive a notification from the bell

Open a notification from the bell and archive it. It then disappears from the notification list for everyone and can be restored later.

What is this?

With Archive you take a finished notification out of the list of current notifications, for everyone in the choir. The notification is kept in full and can be restored at any time.

Handy, for example, after a concert whose info nobody needs anymore, or after a poll has ended.

How to archive a notification

  1. Click the bell at the top right of the header, then click the entry for the notification.
  2. In the notification, click ··· at the top right.
  3. Choose "Archive".
  4. The notification disappears from the list of current notifications. A message with "Undo" appears at the bottom.

How to bring back an archived notification

  1. Open Messages › Notifications.
  2. Click "Archive" at the top.
  3. Find the notification you want.
  4. Click ··· › "Restore". "Current" takes you back to the normal list.

Permission

You need the Delete notifications permission. By default the Administrator and Moderator permission groups have it. The app doesn't offer archiving.

Tips

  • Archive finished notifications, for example after the concert, so the list stays clear for everyone.
  • Don't confuse archiving with deleting. You can't get anything back after deleting, but you can after archiving. If in doubt, archive.

Frequently asked questions

Is archiving the same as deleting?▾
No. Archived notifications are kept in full with comments, reactions, poll and attachments, and can be restored. They are just no longer in the list of current notifications.
Does archiving only apply to me?▾
No. Archiving applies to the whole choir: the notification disappears from the list of current notifications for everyone. That is why only people with the "Delete notifications" permission may do it.
Can I bring back an archived notification?▾
Yes. Right after archiving, click "Undo" in the message at the bottom. Later you find it under Messages › Notifications › Archive and bring it back via ··· › Restore.
