Open the bell dropdown

What is this?

The bell at the top right of the header is your notification center in Theatilo. Clicking it opens the "Notifications" window with your latest entries: new events, notifications, mentions, tasks, association announcements and more. From there you jump straight to the content.

How to open the dropdown

1. Click the bell at the top right of the header; it sits to the left of your avatar.
2. The "Notifications" window opens with your latest entries.
3. Choose "All" or "Unread" at the top to see only the open entries.
4. Click an entry to jump straight to the content.
5. To close it, click outside, click the bell again or press Esc.

In the app, tap the bell in the header. You first see current system notices, then all unread entries, and then the read ones from the last 30 days (20 at most). Pull the list down to refresh it.

What you see in the dropdown

• Newest bell notifications first, with the time
• An icon per type (event, notification, mention, task, association, board, community, chat, live rehearsal)
• A dot on unread entries
• "Mark all as read" at the top, as soon as there are unread entries
• "Notification settings" at the bottom, which takes you to your notification settings

Permission

The bell is always visible to every logged-in user; no special permission is needed. Which bell notifications you get depends on your memberships and notification settings.

Tips

• Check it once a day so you don't miss important events or notifications, without suffering from push fatigue.
• If the number stays high: read the important entries and set the rest to zero with "Mark all as read".
• The bell doesn't replace search. If you're looking for a specific old notification, go to Messages › Notifications and search there.
