Permission required: Members – View birthdays
What is this?
Home has two blocks for special occasions:
- Birthdays: upcoming and recent birthdays of the members of your choirs
- Anniversaries: members celebrating a membership anniversary this year (for example 25 years), for choirs in an association that uses Theatilo
That way you never miss a reason to congratulate or honor someone.
What you see in the "Birthdays" block
- Name and photo of the member
- When: today, tomorrow, in X days or X days ago
- Age: "turns X" or "turned X"
- Choir, if "All choirs" is selected at the top
How to use the blocks
- Open Home (the first item in the sidebar) and scroll to the "Birthdays" block.
- Click a person to open a chat with them and congratulate them right away.
- The "Anniversaries" block shows who has been a member for how many years this year. "Report to association" sends the honor to your association.
In the app the block is called "Upcoming Birthdays"; anniversaries aren't shown there.
Permission
For the Birthdays block you need the View birthdays permission (by default Administrator and Moderator). For Anniversaries you need Create & edit members, and your choir has to be in an association that uses Theatilo.
Tips
- Plan birthday greetings into your week. A short personal message makes every member happy.
- Use milestone membership anniversaries for the annual general meeting. Honoring 10, 25 or 50 years is real appreciation.
- Report anniversaries to the association early so certificates or honorary pins arrive in time.
Frequently asked questions
Which birthdays are shown?▾
Birthdays from 7 days ago to 14 days ahead, from all choirs where you may see birthdays. Past birthdays appear faded. Passive members are hidden if the choir has set it up that way.
Do all members see the birthdays or only those in charge?▾
Only people with the **View birthdays** permission. By default the Administrator and Moderator permission groups have it. Anniversaries are only shown to people with the **Create & edit members** permission, and only in choirs whose association uses Theatilo.
What do I do with a membership anniversary?▾
You can report it directly to the association: click "Report to association" next to the member, complete the message to the association and click "Send report". If the association declines, you can resubmit the report with "Reopen".
